About Us

Poor is a

state of mind

From childhood, I’ve been captivated by the world of money and investing. Growing up in a blue-collar family, my father instilled in me a strong work ethic, while my mother passed down her zest for life and unwavering positivity. Although I dreamed of becoming a stockbroker, my career path led me into the corporate world as a tax professional.
Despite my day job’s focus, my passion has always been personal finance and helping others achieve financial freedom. I met my better half early in life, and we started a family when we were very young – teenage parents, in fact. Balancing work, family, and finances was challenging, but we were diligent about saving for retirement and avoiding debt from the start. These choices have paid off, setting us on a path towards early financial independence. My journey included taking night classes while working full-time, but we remained dedicated to our financial goals. Now, I’m passionate about sharing what I’ve learned to help others, especially young people, see how saving and investing early can transform their lives. Even without a huge income, consistent saving and investing can make you a millionaire over time.
There’s nothing more satisfying than showing people the path to financial freedom and independence. Watching someone’s face light up when they see the power of compound interest never gets old for me. What I’ve found is that many people lack the mindset that they can be wealthy. We often limit ourselves based on family history, school performance, or other beliefs that stunt our potential for success and add unnecessary stress.
My goal is to help you become confident in your financial future and give you hope that you can live a life of abundance if you make a plan and stick to it. I believe that being “poor” is a state of mind, and with the right attitude and strategies, anyone can build wealth and achieve their dreams. Join me on this adventure of a lifetime towards achieving your financial goals and living the life you’ve always imagined!
